As I was reviewing the assignments of My 2nd week Dream Challenge bootcamp – wherein I was required to make a list of THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR …

 

The question arose in my mind – “why are we not more grateful for the things that are occurring in our lives”.  This question can be rephrased another way as – “what things in our lives should we be grateful for”?

May I suggest that the things we are grateful for do not necessarily have to be ALL HAPPY EVENTS / THINGS.  We can certainly learn VALUABLE LESSONS either way.

 

Here are some SUGGESTIONS OF THINGS to be grateful for:-

 

  1. Our family – it doesn’ t matter if they are supportive of us or not. We can surely find something to be grateful for.
  2. Our Lifestyle – are you in a job or you seeking a job; do you rent or are you a home-owner;  do you own a car or do you commute by bus/taxi..; do you have savings in the bank or are you broke;
  3. Health – if you are not in pain; not hospitalized; able to ambulate without assistance; even if the opposite were true, you should try to find something in this situation that you can be grateful for.
  4. Your parents – the persons who took care of you when you were vulnerable..
  5. Friends – some may be supportive, some may not be supportive
  6. Your ability to LEARN NEW THINGS – SET GOALS FOR THE FUTURE;

 

Here is my recommendation that you DAILY WRITE A LIST OF THINGS you are GRATEFUL for.  This practice will definitely make you APPRECIATE THE SMALL THINGS as much as the big things.
